PM: Russia can return to all investment-grade ratings in 2017
MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- Russia can have investment-grade credit ratings from all the three largest agencies already in 2017, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.
“Two largest rating agencies of the big three (Moody`s and Fitch) have changed outlooks for the Russian economy to Stable from Negative over the last six months,” Medvedev told the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of parliament.
“And S&P, one more agency, has raised it to Positive. Russia can reemerge in the category of states with an investment-grade rating as early as until the end of the year already.”
Medvedev also said that even Russia’s critics notice economic progress in the country.
“Our economy is developing despite the catastrophic predictions which came from various places, including from across the ocean,” he said.
“The progress is seen by everyone, including by those whom we can hardly suspect of being sympathetic to our country.”
